Dental Crowns and Bridges in Buderim

Dental crowns are restorations placed over teeth when a dental treatment is insufficient to restore their form and function. Bridges, on the other hand, serve to replace a missing tooth.

Crowns and bridges can be made of tooth-coloured materials, metal, or a combination of the two to offer aesthetically pleasing results.

At Comfort Dental & Implant Centre, we design natural-looking porcelain crowns and bridges, which can be ideal solutions for replacing missing teeth.

Dental Crowns:
Definition and Procedure

Dental crowns are versatile for both restoration and aesthetics. They can protect a tooth after a root canal or strengthen weak teeth. If veneers aren’t suitable, crowns offer a great alternative, covering the entire surface of your tooth for enhanced strength and appearance.

At Comfort Dental & Implant Centre, our CEREC machine allows us to provide high-quality dental crowns in a single day, without traditional impressions or multiple appointments. The process begins with preparing your tooth by numbing the area and removing a small amount of enamel to make space for the crown. We then take 3D images of your mouth to create a digital replica of the crown. Using this digital design, we mill the crown on-site to match the colour of your natural teeth. The crafted crown is then placed on your prepared tooth, covering it completely and bonded securely. The entire process takes just a couple of hours.

Dental Bridges & Their Usage

Dental bridges are prosthetic teeth made up of three or more crowns joined together to form a bridge. They are designed to replace one or more missing teeth. The two ends of the bridge are fitted over your natural teeth adjacent to the missing area, acting as anchors to hold the bridge in place.

Similar to dental crowns, these adjacent teeth are prepared and then covered entirely with crowns.

Dental bridges are a popular alternative for replacing missing teeth due to their ability to resemble natural teeth, prevent existing teeth from shifting, and maintain the natural shape of your smile. They are a fixed solution, unlike removable dentures, and are generally more affordable than dental implants.

Whether you are missing teeth or wish to find a superior alternative to removable dentures or wish to know your options, book your appointment with us today.

FAQs

The longevity of the Dental Crown depends on varying factors; the location of the crown, your oral habits, the ability of the dentists, unpredictable trauma are some of the factors. To ensure the quality of the crown stays, brush, and floss twice a day, book dental check-up appointments at least once every 6 months and nourish yourself with a healthy diet.
The cost of dental crowns depends on individual circumstances such as the number of crowns, if any other treatments are required prior to the dental crowns. It is best to book your consultation with one of our dentists so we can thoroughly assess and offer a tailored treatment plan. Generally, same-day dental crowns at our Buderim dental practice starts from $1500.
Dental crowns are available in different materials. Porcelain, gold and porcelain fused metal are the most commonly used. Dentists can suggest the one that best fits you based on aesthetics and strength needed.
Dental Bridges replace missing teeth to restore the function and aesthetics of your mouth. Before a bridge is placed, the adjacent teeth are prepared by shaping them to the correct size. The bridge is created from the mould of the teeth. The bridge is then placed; the prosthetic teeth fill the missing gap and crowns go over the adjacent teeth.
The cost of dental bridge, with or without dental insurance, depends on factors such as number of crowns needed within a bridge, number of dental bridges required, suitability of the adjacent teeth to support bridges etc. It is recommended to book your consultation to get a tailored price as well as your payment options. We do offer flexible payment plans and other alternatives to replace missing teeth to help manage your costs.
