Root Canal Treatment

Root Canal Treatment
in Buderim

If you’re experiencing severe toothache or sensitivity to hot or cold food and drinks, it could indicate a decayed or infected tooth. At Comfort Dental & Implant Centre, we’ll conduct a thorough oral health assessment to identify the underlying issues and discuss treatment options, prioritising the preservation of your natural teeth.

If extensive damage has affected your dental nerves, you may require endodontic treatment, commonly known as a root canal treatment. This safe and effective procedure aims to protect and restore your natural tooth. Moreover, it’s a cost-effective solution compared to the expenses of tooth extraction followed by dental bridges or implants.

What Happens during a Root Canal Treatment

During your initial appointment, we use 3D technology to thoroughly assess your teeth for decay and damage. This helps us tailor a treatment plan to enhance the health and longevity of your natural teeth. Our dentists will also determine if root canal therapy is necessary.

If needed, we administer a mild sedative to ensure your comfort. The process includes cleaning the infected tooth’s root chamber by removing the infected pulp, filling it with antibiotic solution and ‘gutta-percha’ to prevent reinfection, and sealing it with a composite filling. For extensive treatment, a dental cap or crown may be recommended to reinforce and preserve the tooth. We offer same-day dental crowns at Comfort Dental & Implant Centre.

The entire process typically spans 1-3 visits, depending on the severity of the treatment required.
